
2004-2005 Meetings: Mondays 4-5pm 10/25/04 We opened our meeting playing a game of ring the monkey outside on this beautiful fall day. Then we went inside, learned the Girl Scout Promise and received 'mail' from a Brownie troop welcoming us to Girl scouting. Next we colored posters for the Council contest before having our snacks.
11/01/04 We all said the Girl Scout Promise and were awarded out official Daisy Scout pins. We learned to make the Daisy friendship circle and sang the friendship song. Then we colored and cut out paper dolls that looked like Daisy scouts then had a snack.
11/08/04 We made our daisy circle and sang the Friendship song. Then we said the Promise while making the Girl Scout sign. For our craft we glued foam pieces to make a Ballerina magnet. While it dried we colored a picture of Strawberry Shortcake as a Daisy Scout, then had brownies and milk for snack time.
11/15/04 First we made popsicles out of real apple cider. While we were waiting for the popsicles to freeze, we made daisies out of apple slices, which we had for our snack. Then we used the apple cores as stamps to make stars on a piece of paper with yellow paint. We ended the meeting with a game of toss the apple seeds.
11/22/04 We spent the entire meeting lacing together our leather coin purses and then we had our snack.
11/29/04 We made gingerbread man ornaments by mixing equal parts of applesauce and ground cinnamon. We mixed it to make dough, then rolled it out on wax paper with a rolling pin. We used cookie cutters to make the shape.
12/06/04 We strung yellow and blue beads (Daisy Scout colors) in a pattern to make necklaces.
12/13/04 Today we painted our gingerbread man ornaments that we made before. Then we had our snack and sang Girl Scout Christmas songs.
01/03/05 We decorated coffee filters with marker, and then splashed water on them to make the colors blend together for a tie-dye look and set them aside to dry. Then we painted some porcelain daisies.
01/10/05 We made pictures using small pieces of tissue paper, which were wrapped onto the ends of pencils and glued onto paper. Then we had our daisy circle and learned a new song.
01/24/05 We used crayons to rub a wave pattern onto paper then decorated it by gluing colorful paper fish and seaweed which we cut from paper ourselves
01/31/05 We made 'crayon resist' drawings. The girls colored heavily with crayons then painted over them with watercolors.
02/07/05 Our project today was making handmade Valentine's Day Cards which we mailed to someone close to us.
02/14/05 Today we frosted and decorated small, heart-shaped cakes that we had as our snack.
02/28/05 We designed and colored our own mugs.
03/07/05 We made bunny magnets by gluing two wooden ice cream spoons together and painting them. Then we added eyes and a nose and stuck on a magnet.
03/14/05 We made dragon flies by gluing together ice cream spoons and attached them to clothes pins. Then we painted them and attached magnets.
03/21/05 Today we made bracelets to match the necklaces we made earlier in the year.
03/28/05 We painted daisy sun-catchers and had races outside.
04/11/05 We made designs on pegboards with beads which were melted together using an iron.
04/25/05 Be began working on our brownie try-it for bridging; Colors and shapes. We cut sponges into shapes and used them to paint pictures.
05/02/05 We made our own play dough with flour, corn starch, salt and water, then molded it into different shapes. When they dry we will paint them different colors.
05/09/05 We continued working towards our Try-it badge. We used paper strips to weave a colorful checkboard design.
05/11/05 We met with a brownie troop.
05/16/05 We made pictures using different shaped cutouts glued to a sheet of paper.
05/23/05 We finished our shapes and Colors try-it by making a mobile with different colored shapes from drinking straws and string.
